Immune System

The immune system is the defense to our body. It detects foreign molecules from own ones. A foreign molecule, which is recognized by the immune system, is called an antigen (part of the protein group). When the immune system has contact with an antigen it reacts with it. White blood cells are responsible for the immune system answer when an antigen is detected. The immune system has several options to fight an antigen. B-cells or t-cells carry the major load of the immune system defense. Humoral immune system, which is based on the b-cells, as well as the cellular immune system, based on the class of the t-lymphocytes are the two pillars of the immune system defense.

The immune system protects the body from foreign antigen attacks. Immunoglobulin of the b-cells and t-cells receptors are the ones which recognize foreign molecules. Shouldn't the immune system be capable to differentiate own molecules and foreign molecules, the system loses ability to recognize foreign molecules from own ones. A so called immune system illness builds up. The result is that the immune system can build antibodies vs. foreign proteins.

With certain nutrients we can strengthen our immune system, prevent illnesses, or speed up recovery.
